FAQ:
What does TMJ physical therapy entail?

I can often be easy to manage the symptoms of TMJ but difficult to achieve lasting improvement or relief of symptoms. Proper TMJ physical therapy should include:

  • Evidence-based clinical interventions to minimize pain and improve joint and muscle function at the TMJ and adjacent body regions
  • Equipping the patient with the tools and skills to manage it effectively in their day-to-day life
  • Implementing an individualized progression of specialized exercises to ensure lasting improvement
